The implementation of quality controls and in-process inspection. Organization and records.
The selection and purpose of all destructive tests are specified in standards. Assessment of results.
The methods, capabilities and limitations, and assessments of reports related to penetrant, magnetic particle, radiographic and ultrasonic testing of parent materials and welded joints.
Identification of defects. Reasons for their occurrence and acceptance.
The influence of welding techniques on distortion. The control of distortion. The influence of heat treatment and machining.
The preparation of technical reports on all aspects of inspection is referred to above.

Inside the CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector Course you will learn about the duties and responsibilities of a welding inspector including fusion welding processes, typical weld defects, types of steel (including carbon-manganese, low alloy, and stainless steels), the hardening of steels, weldability, heat treatment, and parent metal defects. The program also includes visual inspection, the testing of parent metals and welds, and destructive and non-destructive test techniques.
You will also learn welder and procedure approval, codes and standards, and an outline of safe working practices. There will also be the opportunity to practice examination questions while undergoing continuous and end-of-course assessments.
